CIS Refers to Continuous Interleaved Sampler strategy, a processing strategy in which the acoustic signal is converted into digital pulses and split among a maximum of eight frequency bands. Each band signal is sequentially transmitted to the implant so that the electrode(s) or channels are non-simultaneously stimulated.
Channel
Channels are the number of separate stimulation sites that can be selectively stimulated, each with distinctly processed signals, at the same time or at a rate that the ear perceives as simultaneous.
True number of channels depends on electrode sen
closed set test a test or task in which all possible response choices are put before the person being tested – in contrast to open set.
compression A means of electronically limiting the amplitudes of incoming sound waves while maintaining the frequencies of the original waveforms – as a way to control the signal intensity.
