Procedure for the replacement of a defective device

Product under warranty

When a HiResolution® device breaks down, Advanced Bionics®advises the user to contact his/her implanting center in the first instance as the team is experienced to use the HiResolution system.

Replacements under warranty are immediate and free of charge with a refurbished device. The warranty remains the same.
The refurbished device manufacturing process includes complete device disassembling:

  • Replacement of the defective components
  • Cleaning of each component
  • Mechanical and electronic tests
  • Device reassembling
  • Final functional tests, similar to those for a new sound processor.

Product out of warranty

For out of warranty product (except sound processors): a new product needs to be purchased with a new warranty.
In case of a sound processor failure after the 3-year warranty period, you’ll receive a replacement refurbished device for a repair flat fee.
This refurbished sound processor will have a new six-month warranty.
Note: for some exceptional cases (damaged, burnt, crushed or dropped into water), Advanced Bionics will not be able to repair the processor and the user will have to purchase a new sound processor. He will have the option of getting access to the latest sound processor generation.
